Beauty Bar [ Bathroom Rating: A; Bar Rating: B ]
The "Beauty Bar", 231 E 14th St (btw 2nd and 3rd Ave), has two small bathrooms, single toilet in each. The bathrooms were good, enough space, fairly clean with sinks that worked, had hot water and paper (plenty for your hands and privates).
Beauty Bar is a fine bar but it's unlikely I will frequent it. It's a little too hip, too young, and it's loud. I will say the dance floor in back is cool, the DJ was good and they've kept the beauty salon chairs, chrome hair dryers and other salon hardware from the original Thomas Beauty Salon which does add nicely to the ambiance giving the place a neat edge.
